25,000 ft (East bound)
We are finally underway!!! After
two years of planning, it's hard to believe that we are actually
going to circumnavigate the globe. Well, that is our determined
objective. With the current world crisis, we will have to
take it one step at a time and see what unfolds.
Unfortunately, we were 11 hours
late out of Scottsdale due to some problems with the HF radio
and the landing gear but everything seems to be fine now.
The bad news is that we will have to spend the night in Tulsa,
Oklahoma instead of McLean, Virginia and that means we missed
the Tisoft reunion party tonight. Bummer! We are planning
a 9:00 AM departure in the morning which should get us into
Manassas, Virginia, at around 1:30 PM and maybe time for some
golf.
All aboard are very excited and
looking forward to our great adventure. We couldn't have a
more compatible crew. Ashley and I think the world of Tom
and Pam, but then this is just day one. We'll see how everyone
feels about each other on day 85 (chuckle).
