Fairfax County, Virginia

When we awoke this morning my laptop was dead!! Without it, we have no Email, we can't store our photos, and we can't check the news on the Internet. In a state of panic, we took it to the Apple Store that we had found the day before and left it for pickup after golf.

We had a wonderful round of golf with Ray Vickery. It was a beautiful day, and although we didn't score well, it felt good to get outside for a while. Upon returning to the Apple Store, we found the laptop alive and well. It has worked perfectly since then.

We attended a party at the home of John and Caroline Oakes in the evening and had a fantastic time. The other guests were Ken and Bucky O'Donnell (John's parents), Ray and Ann Vickery, and Fred Mitchell. For those of you who don't know, this is the Tisoft inner circle. Together, we have won battles that couldn't be won and we have endured losses that seemed unbearable. The love and respective we share is boundless.

When we arrived, we were greeted by a large banner which said, "Welcome Tree Top Flyers". Caroline had planned an "Around the World Party" including a 12 course meal (each course from a different country that we are going to visit), and a table decorated with an airplane and maps of the continents. There was an easel with a large map of the world from which I gave a stirring address, well at least everyone stayed awake. We dined, drank, shared our 'war stories' (again), laughed, cried, and hugged until midnight before returning to our hotel exhausted. It was a memorable evening.
