Marbella, Spain

We had an on-time departure at 9:00 AM this morning. The flight from Faial, Azores to Malaga, Spain is 1,154 miles and was expected to take less than 5 hours. Because of 100-knot headwinds, we had to refuel in Lisbon, Portugal and didn't arrive in Malaga until 6:00 PM local time.

The weather was very poor with heavy rain and wind but we were fortunate and able to land because of a brief improvement in conditions. After an hour by limo, we arrived at the Marbella Club Hotel that is definitely world class. We have beautiful suite with a private garden. We had dinner at the hotel restaurant with a lovely bottle of Spanish wine and retired to the room to watch CNN (some things never change).
